Western Australian Aboriginal Wunda shield

A good large Aboriginal wooden shield from Western Australia ‘Wunda’.  The front carved with a zig zag motif to represent the snake moving, the ridges carved to throw shadow, and alternately coloured with pigment. The reverse carved with grooves and a handle. Good condition, minor loss at one edge. From a private UK collection
