Unusual Battak Dagger with Niello

 A most interesting dagger from Sumatra, probably Toba Battak. The blade of high pamor layered steel, the handle very interesting from solid brass of tubular form, decorated with engraving and chiselled patterns with applique of niello in geometric designs. The sheath covered completely with shaped strips of brass banding carefully fitted together with a cast brass finial. A unique piece 19th century.
