Timorese Kampilan sword

An interesting version of the Kampilan sword, this example probably originating from Timor Island. Large carved wooden hilt with edge inlaid with wooden pegs originally holding hair decoration in place. The blade crudely made and heavy, probably a locally made version of the typical Moro Kampilan sword. Displaying an old worn patination.   southern asia
