Scarce 1846 pattern British Military Lance with ordnance marking

Description

A very rare 1846 pattern British Military issue lance, as used by the lancers in the Crimean War, at Balaclava and the Charge of the Light Brigade. The long ash shaft stamped by the contractor W.Emery in the wood at the base, small markings stamped in the steel butt, a crowned number inspectors mark and British ordnance stamp. The head of fluted shape with four edges to the blade, long steel mounts along the shaft with screws and a set of three pierced lugs to take a pennant. Good condition, very hard to find issue lance.
