Rare Polish Flanged Mace 16th century

Description

 A rare Flanged War Mace from Eastern Europe probably Poland. Steel head with eight stout blades, surmounted by a small finial. The upper mace shaft of steel chamfered and with facetted lozenge decoration in bands, the lower grip of wood carved with designs, pierced to take a wrist lanyard, the butt with a small decorated steel cap.  16th century possibly earlier. 64 cms long overall.
