A very heavy Ottoman Tufek Rifle dating to the late 17th century. The massive barrel of exceptional weight, displaying fine ‘Turkish-Ribbon’ damascus patterning to the breech, and then linear damascus twist for the rest of the barrel length. The barrel tip showing a very deep rifling inside and an inlaid brass circle around the barrel wall edge. The walnut stock glossy and inlaid with large mosaic roundels and ivory, strong miquelet flintlock mechanism with brass adornment throughout. Some old restoration and modification to the stock, forestock shortened probably during use to the European style and capped with ivory. middle eastern
