Fine Antique Yemeni Silver Jambiya Dagger

A very nice antique Jambiya Dagger from the Hadramout region of Yemen. Made of silver this is a very good quality antique piece in rare complete form. The dagger itself is high quality silver, the hilt of scarce form with opposing ‘horns’ on either side of the pommel,, the front decorated with silver filigree and the back faced with silver, strong double edged steel blade. The sheath with chiselled silver decoration, the chape with an upturned tip and large ‘ball’ finial. Mounted on a belt with silver and metallic thread emroidered in designs. Various other silver bozex and conpartments mounted on the belt all of good quality silver, one containing an original hand written parchment sheet covered with arabic calligraphy presumably a koranic talisman or prayer.
