 A very fine quality Caucasian or Circassian flintlock pistol dating to the mid 19th century. Very fine goldwork to the lock and steel parts, with stylised arabic calligraphy. Silver mounts with nielloed inlay. The whole pistol body covered with fine black leather. The steel barrel of damascus twist, probably Turkish.
