Antique German Saxon Left-Hand Dagger

Description

A very well made German left-hand dagger in the early 17th century Saxon style. The metal work of very high quality workmanship, steel downturned guards and a looped front guard designed to catch an adversaries blade when used in conjunction with a rapier sword in the right hand. The steel pommel elegantly fluted, the grip bound tightly with steel wire (central area of damage to one side). The blade in very good condition with some sharpening marks to the edges.
