19th century Zulu spear one of three

Description

Another very nice 19th century Zulu spear assegai , from a group of 3 spears and one knobkerrie club. This example has a smaller head of the very old Zulu type on the end of a long steel shaft, the blade leaf shaped and the shaft with the two typical zulu lugs behind the head. The spear collar is mounted with hard shrunken hide, very thick and strong, the wooden shaft original length and with a swollen end for better grip. Very nice early example,
