A nice antique Ottoman Turkish yataghan sword. The incurving steel blade in very good condition and clean, with the back edge fullered and a stout spine with some chiselled decoration along its upper back edge. The hilt with very fine silver filigree bolsters and grip mounts. The grip with large flared ears, each side made of walrus ivory one with some old cracking and a small section filled with lead. Complete with its original black hide covered scabbard, brass wire sewn to the reverse and with a polished metal upper mount. Circa 1820, 27.5 inches long overall, the blade 21 inches. middle east
