Turkish Yataghan sword with silver mounts

 A nice good quality Turkish yataghan sword  with silver and niello decorated hilt. Small eared handle with inlaid decoration and engraving, the blade mounts similarly decorated and the back edge with inlaid panel with a long arabic inscription. The blade of good steel, chiselled to one side with the date 1238 and the other with arabic calligraphy and the makers stamp in a circular mark. 19th century
