A good 19th century Fijian Barbed Spear or Javelin ‘Sokilaki’ circa 1880. Very long wooden spear with carved barbs, two missing, and further chips to areas, and the end with some loss.This spear is approximately 9ft in length but some of these javelins were up to 12ft +. The shaft is thickened in the centre to give good balance, and tapers towards the end.
