A good Saif sword from North Africa, Nimcha 18th or early 19th century. The hilt of typical form carved from a single piece of solid horn, iron mounts and guards with traces of silver decoration. The blade a good example, slightly curving and fullered, stamped in multiple places with bladesmiths marks, and crescent moons, probably German or Italian in origin.
