Nice Khyber knife from Nepal or India with quillwork panel decoration

An interesting North Indian khyber knife type sword. The scabbard decorated at its mouth with a large panel of 'embroidered' porcupine quillwork on leather in scrolling patterns. Quillwork of this type is very rarely encountered due to its fragility, occassionally it is also found on Kukri sheaths from Nepal. The sword has a silver type hanging mount with a ring, the blade is of very thick and sturdy pattern welded damascus steel. The hilt formed from a single block of black horn nicely shaped ( small chip to upper pommel). 19th century. indo persian
