Caucasian Silver and Niello mounted pistol with gold decorated barrel

An interesting Caucasian pistol the lock of flintlock miquelet form. Both barrel and lock with traces of silver and gold applied decoration. The stock covered with black leather and with silver trim decorated with chiselling and niello inlay. The butt unusually of carved ebony wood. There is a small signature in arabic calligraphy at the top of the silver decoration at the breech. The barrel held secure by bands of silver wire. Early 19th century.
