A lovely quality long Vietnamese sword ‘ Kiem’. Very nice steel blade fullered and finely made with decorative chiselling to the forte and the tip. The handle with it’s grip beautifully carved with flowers and berries, silver mounts the large silver handguard with a dragon face on each side. The scabbard of dark hardwood with further silver high relief chiselled mounts and mother of pearl shell inlay. Some old repair to the upper section of the wood scabbard which is aged and not conspicious. 19th century. 107 cms overall the blade 77.
