A nice quality Tibetan dagger. Chiselled steel and brass throughout, with bands of fretwork, and panels of shagreen. The hilt with a central section of shagreen grip with a brass flowerhead to the centre, triform pommel with large raised mount set with a turquoise. The guard or elaborate shaped form, the sheath very interestingly fashioned with a large rear strap chiselled and shaped with a hole for a strap. The blade with a short fuller and the blade chamfered to a chisel edge, engraved with the number 79 to the forte, and a flame decoration to the blade point. late 19th c. 32 cms overall
