Description

Shona wirework spear. An unusual and scarce short spear from the Shona people of Zimbabwe/southern Africa. The entire length beautifully bound with twisted and knotted brass wire. The Spearhead of steel with typical Nguni notches below the head as also found on Zulu blades. The reverse end with a twisted steel section, and the very end with an additional iron blade. Circa 1900
