Scarce Burmese Lance with silver

A rare Burmese or Southern Asian Lance. Long spear/lance sheathed for most of its length with silver banded with filigree silver. The top collar area mounted with three curious flattened circular silver decorative devices. The head of thick very robust steel, shaped at the forte with a ball, and with a thick diamond section tapering blade. Another white metal section possibly aluminium near the butt with a shaped ‘spade’s shaped iron foot. A rare piece, offered here in lightly cleaned condition. Circa 1900. Provenance Felix Topolski. Felix Topolski was commissioned war artist during WW2 and travelled extensively during this time throughout the Middle East, Burma, India and China. He was also present at the liberation of the Bergen-Belsen camp in 1945 and recorded the Nremberg Trials through his artwork. Presumably this lance was collected in Burma during this time, from then it is was housed in his artist studio. Approx 250 cms. Price includes shipping
