Robust South Indian Spearhead

An Unusual antique South Indian Deccan spearhead. Extremely robust thick steel blade of elongated leaf shape and diamond cross section. Featuring two outstretched ‘arms’ which loop over to end in squared buds. The blade is fixed into a central mount which protrudes from the tubular steel shaft. Decorated with engraved geometric designs. 18th century or earlier . 48 cms overall
