Persian Gunpowder Charger or flask of watered damascus steel

 An antique Persian gunpowder charging flask made entirely of steel. The upper mount and front made of pierced steel, the main body of damascus steel with a visible watered pattern in areas. To the front of the flask is a cover of horn and a silver plate which can be unscrewed. An 18th century or early 19th century piece with heavy patination, areas of age wear allover, one hanging loop missing. These flasks would have been worn by musketmen on a belt with assorted accoutrements relating to fireams, bullet boxes etc.  indo persia indian wootz
