Omani Hide Buckler

Omani Hide Buckler. A scarce and collectible hard moulded hide shield or buckler from Oman. These small conical shields for hand protection relate to others used by tribes around the horn of africa such as Somali and Yemeni shields. Used offensively as well as for parrying, these hard shields are instantly recognisable from their form. moulded from rhino hide with multiple ridges and raised borders, there are two brass rosette washes on either side which hold the handle to the inside.
