Nepalese Kukri knife with silver hilt mounts and fine facetted steel blade

Description

Antique Nepalese Kukri. A good quality example with a heavy and very strong steel blade shaped and chiselled with nice contoured chamfers. The upper section of the blade is chiselled with elegant decoration along the spine, the kho notch finely shaped below a stylised armourers marking of the twin ‘eye-lash’ . The spine is thick, this kukri is a very functional fighting piece. The hilt has silver mounts, the bolsters being plain silver, the central band and the pommel cap silver chiselled with intricated designs. The grip is carved from a single piece of black horn with a central ridged area. retaining its original black leather covered sheath ( slight damage to lower side), complete with its chiselled silver chape.
