Massive African Maasai Lion Spearhead

Massive African Maasai Lion Spearhead – Huge Long Masai Spear blade, enormously long length. This spear blade over 124 cms long!! would have had the foot of similar lenght and was used to fight and kill the Lion singlehandedly which was the Maasai way of becoming a man in the tribe.The blade superbly forged and fluted for maximum rigidity and strength. The base with a hollowed socket to take the wooden shaft.  Lovely old dark patina, superb condition, and of exceptional length, dating to the 19th century. From a private Scottish collection.
