A nice large Persian Khanjar dagger with a very fine dark wootz steel curved blade. Very vivid and clear watered pattern to the surface, reinforced upper edges and a forte chiselled with animal scenes. The large hilt made from morse/walrus ivory, and unusually mounted with a silver sleeve and fittings inlaid with niello, depicting a monkey and an elephant. Circa 1800.
