Fine Persian Khula Khud helmet with silver Decoration

A very nice quality antique Persian Khula Khud helmet made from steel. The bowl heavily damascened with silver hunting scenes and other decoration, the rim with a border of Arabic Kufic style calligraphy. The steel nasal bar sliding and fixable in place with a small screw fitting, the steel mail hanging protective skirt fixed around the rim and shaped with eye protection and longer to the sides and rear. Retaining an inner cotton liner. 19th century
