Fine Indian Khanda or Firangi sword circa 1700

Description

Fine quality North Indian Firanghi style straight sword. The hilt richly embellished with a repeating pattern in gold allover, top spike to the pommel with bud finial. The large handguard also decorated with gold and pierced to take a lining hand cushion. The blade in fabulous condition, retaining its original ‘shine’ and surface, uncleaned patinted condition, wear to areas of goldwork. Original scabbard with some losses.   18th century.   108cms long overall  indo-persian
