Fine gold-decorated Pesh Kabz dagger

Description

A very fine and beautiful Indian dagger pesh kabz. Exceptionally fine gold decoration to the steel hilt and sheath in lovely condition. The blade with watered pattern visible and makers stamps to each side. The bolsters showing gold applied koftgari birds. Unusually the sheath to this dagger is also steel, the tip flared at the back edge to mirror the shape of the blade tip which has a yelmen and sharpened back edge. It is likely the hilt and sheath is also made from watered steel. circa 1820, overall length 42 cms, blade 27 cms.  indo persian
