Early Indian steel mace

Description

 An all original iron mace weapon from India.  Early form, the steel flanged macehead with shaped blades, long facetted steel shaft with traces of incised decorations. The hilt of backet hilt form, wide handguard to the base curling arounf to protect the fingers, the outside chiselled with decorations and the borders shaped. Dished pommel and an iron protrusion complete the hilt. 17th/18th century. 81 cms long
