Early Indian All steel lance Sang
Description
Rare steel lance from Northern India, ‘Sang’. Used from horseback these lances were heavy and robust, decorated with simple designs for its length, and with a stout four sided head. Integral shaped central steel grip, and a ball counterbalance at the opposing end, and spike. With a thick rich dark patination to the surface showing its great age. Circa 18th century or earlier. Deaccessioned from a British Museum
