Early Chinese Teng Pai woven Cane or Rattan shield

Large woven TengPai Chinese cane or rattan shield, very conical shape possibly an early style late Ming or earlier Qing period. The centre with a small wooden nub or boss. Original rattan arm loops and wooden handle to the reverse, very rare piece to find in this condition, inherent fragility and destruction in the cultural revolution meant  that very few of these larger war shields survive.
