Beautiful Burmese or Thai sword embellished with silver to blade

 A most attractive Burmese sword of high quality manufacture. Heavy curved steel blade with thick silver decoration for its full length, depicting scenes  and stories with characters and panels of writing. The thick back edge of the blade is also decorated similarly with silver in geometric designs. The hilt is of solid silver with the grip engraved and inlaid with dark copper alloy, illustrating scenes of dancers. The pommel a bud-like finial. Complete with original scabbard with bands of white metal and other inlay along its full length. A very beautiful sword dating to the later 19th century. 90m cms overall
