A good Persian axe. Large crescentic steel blade with chiselled panels of figures and animals, and showing a watered damascus pattern to the surface. The shaft of silver, chiselled for its length with floral decorated panels and silver-mounted to the top with a piece of rounded rock-crystal underlaid with some written characters in Nastaliq script. 27 inches approximately, 19th century Iran.
