A high quality and heavy bladed Thai or Burmese antique Dha sword. The full length of the thick steel blade adorned with thick silver decoration with animals and characters amongst foliage, a short panel of calligraphy to one side. The hilt with again heavily overlaid silver with pairs of figures carrying swords, silver mounts, and a silver pommel which has been reattached.
The scabbard made from bands of silver alloy, broken with thinner bands of decorative metal set in lac. Really lovely antique piece dating to the 19th century.
