Antique Chinese/Tibetan silver and iron Saddle
An old Sino-Tibetan saddle. Good solid construction, the iron mounts with silver decoration, the front and back applied with white shagreen with black lacquer. The saddle padding of blue fabric with silver damascened iron mounts. 18th century or earlier. The wooden underside with sturdy iron rings for the harness, and branded with three chinese characters ‘three forming harmony’ relating to Tibetan or Mahayana Buddhism.
