A large double sword Shueng-Jian circa 1900
Description
A good Chinese double set of Jian swords, featuring two long blade kept within a single scabbard. The blades themselves are of steel with blunted edges, flat to the underside with a triangluar profile over the other face tapering towards the tip. The hilt mounts and scabbard mounts are of silver coloured metal presumably white brass, the scabbard itself is covered with rayskin shagreen. The wooden grips coerevd with red fabric and bound with blue cotton braiding. Large and substantial swords dating to the end of the 19th century.
