19th century Burmese Dha Sword

Description

 A 19th century Dha sword from Burma. The scabbard and hilt fully mounted with silver (unpolished), the handle with bound rattan and filgree silver wire, the pommel of large facetted ‘onion’ shape. Good steel blade simple but thick and very functional. The wooden scabbard with silver coverings, and intricate filigree silver edgings, a good early example. burma silver southern asia south east asia thai daarb
