Omani Saif sword

Description

Omani saif sword. A nice example of a silver hilted sword nimcha or ‘saif’ from the tip of the arab peninsula. The hilt is very typical of this region and was used further afield by arab mercenaries throughout the coastal regions of the Indian Ocean. Very finely made high quality silver hilt with decorative features, crosspiece, and chain to the handguard region. The blade in good condition, still sharp and flexible. 19th century
