NIce Shi sword from the Congo formerly Zaire

 A nice  sword from the Shi People of what is now called the DRC, Democratic Republic of Congo. Long steel blade with thick central ridge, small notch to the tip. The wooden scabbard and hilt has a very attractive dark glossy patination, which applies to the woevn rattan bands as well. There is on band missing near the top, the bottom of the sheath has a small leather and fabric ornament remaining.
