Barbed Solomon Island Spear with figure carving

A very nice antique Solomons Island spear, full length shaft of black palmwood. The tip with long and shorter barbs from the stingray, wrapped with fibres and plant material. Below the head is a double sided figural carving and bands of woven orchid red and yellow plant stem decoration, and a coloured fibre feature. An older example from a private UK collection.
