Ottoman Turkish Shamshir sword dating to the early 19th century. The blade of curved damascus steel retaining traces of gold calligraphy to each side. The hilt with dense black wood grips, probably ebony, and mounts decorated with gold. Some age wear and abrasion marks to guard.   middle eastern
