Greek long knife with exquisite silver scroll decorated sheath and hilt

Description

An extremely long Silver decorated knife from Northern Greece. The scabbard made fully of thick heavy silver chiselled in the deepest scrolling repousse designs. The tip ending with a ball type finial, sometimes found on pistols from the same region. The upper sheath section with a small suspension mount, the collar decorated with gold. The length of the sheath also has linear decoration with applied niello inlay. The very long blade of good steel, single edged. The handle again of solid chiselled repousse silver.
