Shamshir sword from Persia Iran with wootz steel blade inlaid

A heavy bladed Classical Persian shamshir. The mounts of watered steel and brass, bone or ivory grips with some later infilling and repair. The broad watered blade with clear attractive wootz patterns, the surface with some sharpening and wear marks allover. Inlaid cartouche with nastarliq calligraphy and the persian lion surrounded by a gold inlaid border. 18th/early 19th century.  indo persian
