Very nice heavy Turkish Ottoman sword ‘Yataghan’ from the early 19th century. Massive grips carved from walrus ivory with lovely old patina. The mounts of gilt-copper ‘tombak’ set with pink coral and other semi precious stones. The bolsters lacking. The blade of thick leaning forward steel with panels of silver inlaid calligraphy and a deep stamped arabic makers mark. middle eastern
