Indian Tulwar sword with Silver-Gilt hilt and Gilt mounted scabbard

Description

A very nice Indian sword Tulwar dating to the 19th century. The hilt beautifully decorated with gilt-silver with repeating flowerhead patterns, the mounts to the green velvet covered scabbard of pierced copper-gilt repeating the six petal flower motif. The curved blade of good steel, chiselled with hunting scenes and various animals and figures. A lovely sword surviving in very good condition throughout.   indo-persian
