Two 19th century Somalian Spears of the Danakil tribe

Description

Two very nice spears of Somalian or South Sudanic origin, probably Danakil tribe. Very beautifully made, the steel heads of flat leaf shaped construction with elegant facetted long steel necks with slight flaring to the bases. The spear shafts made of wood, straight with regular bamboo like nobbles along their lengths. The ends wrapped with steel in traditional fashion. Good condition circa 1900
