Antique Chinese or Tibetan recurved Bow

A good Northern Tibetan recurved or ‘compound’ bow ‘Amdo’. The front wrapped with bark, and attractively painted with designs of white and red flowers on a black background. The reverse side showing the black horn used to power the bow when pulled, decorated with stencilled geometric designs. The grip wrapped with bark, which shows wear from use to one side, enabling the sinew covering the front of the bow to be seen. The nocks to the bow have undergone traditional working refurbishment, and the bow restrung with sinew, typically these old bows were refitted and continue to be used and fired in modern times.
