An old and unusual South East Asian pole-arm ‘Trident’. The steel head beautifully shaped with waved outer spikes as stylised serpents and stout central spike. The lower part of the head with decorative shaping and chiselling. A large ribbed brass mount to the top of the haft. Retaining its original wooden shaft, which was originally red lacquered. Good condition, the shaft with some old wood fill repair to areas. From a private Danish collection. 79 inches. 19th century, Southern Asia
