Description

 Dinka Bone-tipped Spear or Javelin from the Sudan Africa. Rare piece, the foot long blade formed from a shaped piece of bone, polished and with a sharp point, the far end decorated with simple carved ‘circle and dot’ motifs. The head secured to the wooden shaft with a shrunken section of hide. Good conditoin, no chips to the blade, circa 1900.
